Welcome to an event:

Presentation of the 3rd Call in Croatia and Matchmaking for Croatian Applicants and Norwegian Partners

Innovation Norway invites you to a webinar and matchmaking that presents the 3rd Call for Proposals on Croatia.

The call provides approx. 6 million euro in support to projects on green industry innovation and blue growth in Croatia, with a focus on business growth and scale-up of activities in Croatian companies and cooperation with Norway.

The webinar will present the call, outline how to apply and answer your questions.

The online matchmaking aims to connect Croatian Applicants and Norwegian partners by providing the opportunity for B2B meetings in this online platform. The aim is that the projects supported under the open call are implemented in cooperation between a Croatian company and one or more Norwegian companies, research institutes or other entities.

3rd Call for Proposals in Croatia

See information about the open call on this website: 31/01/2023: Croatia, 3rd Call for Proposals on Business Development and Innovation

The 3rd Call for Proposals makes available approx. 6 million euro to projects within two focus areas:

    Green Industry Innovation

Green Industry Innovation can support the greening of manufacturing and production industries. It can support investments in greener technologies to increase production capacity, diversify products or services, or contribute to a fundamental change in the production process of the Croatian company (automation/ digitalisation/ robotisation) to make the process greener and more efficient.

    Blue Growth

Blue Growth can support sustainable growth in the marine and maritime sector in general. Seas, ocean, rivers, lakes and islands represent resources for innovation and economic growth. Example of projects include the development of products/solutions for blue energy, development of solutions related to marine litter and waste, development or investments in maritime supra-structures, development or investments in blue biotechnology and more.

See examples of the kind of projects supported below.

    Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants: SMEs and large enterprises, with less than 25% public ownership, registered as legal enterprises in Croatia.

Eligible partners: Any private or public entity, commercial or non-commercial, established as a legal entity in Norway or Croatia.

    Croatian Applicants and Norwegian Partners

The Open Call encourages projects that include Norwegian partners. The eligible Norwegian partners are any private or public entity, commercial or non-commercial, established as legal entities in Norway or Croatia.

The programme offers travel grants to strengthen cooperation and business partnerships: 25/01/21: Travel Grants - Croatia

Partners should be actively involved in, and effectively contributing to, the implementation of the project. The contribution from a partner should be necessary to achieve a successful project result and be tailormade for the project.

    Matchmaking

The matchmaking is online in this platform - B2Match. The aim is to connect businesses from Croatia with partners in Norway. The aim of connecting partners is cooperation in projects under the call for proposals.

Register by making a profile in this platform. When your profile is accepted, you can see all the other profiles and contact the ones which are relevant for you. You can set up B2B meetings in this platform directly. See more on how the matchmaking works under the tab 'Matchmaking - How It Works'.

The EEA and Norway Grants aim to reduce social and economic differences in Europe and to strengthen cooperation with Norway. Applications including a partnership with Norway are therefore encouraged with additional points in selection of projects.

    Examples of Partnership Models

    Investment projects

Sharing best practises and contributing with expertise/competence/know-how, from similar company/activity in Norway. This is usually a small part of the project. The applicant (the Croatian company) must be willing to co-finance this additional cost, which they most probably will, if they see it as an added value to the project.

    R&D projects

    1. The partner could contribute with contractual research (sell and invoice their services) to the Croatian applicant. The Croatian applicant must cover the co-financing for this additional cost.
    2. The partner could develop a product/solution together with the Croatian applicant. In this case, they share the project result/IPR, and in such case the Norwegian partner has to cover the co-financing of their cost from their own funds. However, it is very important that the Croatian company still is the project owner and the main beneficiary of the project result.
